First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has launched the Maldives' National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) 2024-2029, advocating a "One Health" approach that integrates human, animal, and environmental health to tackle this pressing issue. She emphasised the economic and health risks posed by antimicrobial misuse, particularly in agriculture, and highlighted the plan's alignment with global standards to strengthen governance and monitoring. By uniting stakeholders across sectors, the plan aims to safeguard public health, food safety, and economic stability for future generations.
