The Maldives has reaffirmed its opposition to relocating citizens due to climate change, urging greater international support for vulnerable nations during ICJ advisory proceedings on states' climate obligations. Attorney General Uz Ahmed Usham stressed the Maldives’ acute climate vulnerability and called on global partners to uphold their legal and moral responsibilities. Legal experts representing the Maldives emphasised collective international duties to support Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in adapting to climate impacts.
