The Maldives has surpassed its 2023 tourist arrivals figure of 1,878,543, marking continued growth with an 8.9% rise in 2024 so far. February emerged as the peak month for tourism, with a record 217,392 arrivals, and China is now the leading market for visitors, followed by Russia and the UK. Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal credited industry efforts for the milestone and reaffirmed the goal of reaching 2 million arrivals by the end of 2024.
