The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) inaugurated its first research conference, "Advancing Economic Research: Policy and Innovation for a Sustainable Future," featuring the launch of the MVR 1 million MMA Research Fund to bridge the gap between stakeholders to promote effective policymaking. The event included panel discussions on financial technology and climate change, as well as presentations of research papers on income disparities, GST impacts, and rent trends. The conference will conclude with workshops aiming to support sustainable economic development in the Maldives.
