During the visit, agreements were exchanged in areas including youth development, tourism, archiving cooperation, prevention of violent extremism, academic collaboration in the defence and health sectors, and professional development for school teachers. The President also met with members of the Maldivian community residing in Sri Lanka, where he expressed optimism over efforts to find a permanent solution to visa-related issues faced by Maldivians living there. He further noted positive progress towards opening a branch of the Bank of Maldives in Sri Lanka and pledged improvements to the Maldives Cultural Centre, commonly known as Sosun Villa.
