The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has extended the application deadline for land and flat schemes under the Government’s “Housing for All” programme to 15 June.
The Ministry announced that applications, which were previously set to close at the end of this month, can now be submitted until 11:59 pm on 15 June.
The deadline was extended following complaints from applicants facing difficulties in completing documents and submitting applications within the original timeframe due to the Eid holidays.
The Ministry also stated that the call centre established to provide information on the housing schemes will be suspended during the Eid holidays and will resume services on 31 May.
Speaking at a recent press conference, Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Dr Abdulla Muththalib said more than 20,000 applications have already been submitted for land and flats under the Government’s housing schemes.
Minister Dr Muththalib added that over 17,000 draft applications remain pending, bringing the expected total number of applications to around 37,000 once all submissions are completed.
Under the Government’s “Housing for All” policy, 15,000 land plots and 7,900 flats are to be allocated in the Greater Malé area.
