President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended congratulations to the 63 participants who graduated from the technical training programme conducted under the Maldives National Service.

In a post shared on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu stated that the graduates included 37 youths aged 17, 24 aged 18, and two aged 19. He also congratulated the graduates’ parents and guardians, instructors, and personnel from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and the Ministry of Defence and National Service.

The technical training programme is designed for participants who complete the Maldives National Service programme. The graduates were from the first batch of the Maldives National Service Initial Training programme, who completed their initial training on 28 December 2025 and later chose to continue into vocational training.

President Dr Muizzu also announced that a second batch of the programme involving 75 additional youths is scheduled to begin on 1 June 2026.

Training under the four-month programme was provided in six vocational fields, including electrician work, automobile engineering, marine engineering, refrigeration and air conditioning, office management, and building and fabrication.
