Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has achieved a milestone in medical training with the graduation of the first cohort of its Medical Internship Programme.
The year-long programme, which commenced on 17 July last year, was completed by four medical graduates comprising three women and one man. Certificates were presented during a special ceremony by AEH Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Adeel Naseer.
With the successful completion of the internship, the graduates are now eligible to obtain official registration to practise as medical doctors.
Following the graduation of its inaugural cohort, AEH has opened applications for the programme's second intake. The upcoming batch will accommodate 15 interns, with applications closing on the 16th of next month.
In addition to AEH, medical internship programmes in the Maldives are currently offered by Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), Hulhumalé Hospital and ADK Hospital.
