The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has advised RTL passengers that they may receive Bank of Maldives (BML) transaction messages for previous journeys due to ongoing maintenance work by the bank.

In a statement, MTCC said BML is conducting maintenance to resolve an issue affecting the bank's services used for RTL fare payments.

During the maintenance period, customers may receive fare-related transaction notifications for journeys made earlier, as the bank processes pending payment transactions.

MTCC apologised for any inconvenience caused and clarified that the messages relate to previous RTL trips, urging customers to take note of this when they receive the notifications.

RTL provides ferry and bus services across the Maldives, with many passengers using BML debit and credit cards to pay for their journeys.

Customers who require further information or have concerns are advised to contact the MTCC hotline at 1650.
